[Sorry for my bad English, I’m Italian]
I bought a second-hand ipod nano 5th generation. The ipod works fine but I have problems with the battery. When I bought the ipod, it hadn’t been charged for a long time, 1 year I think.
If I fully charge it, the battery lasts 20 minutes with screen always on and maximum brightness, while if I keep screen off and play music only it lasts about 2:30/3 hours. With normal usage (listening to music and waking the screen only to change song) it lasts about 1:30. I know I should consider myself lucky, given how the battery was treated, but I think there is a problem with the battery monitor.
As a matter of facts, if I let the battery drain completely and then charge the ipod for only 10 seconds, when I unplug the charger the battery indicator shows 100% charge (clearly wrong). Then the ipod turns itself off in few seconds, obviously. Further, while I’m listening to music and wake the screen to change song, I notice that the indicator goes up and down (from 20% to 50%, then 30%, then 70%, and so on…).
So, I’m not looking for a battery better performance but only for an accurate indicator.
Is there something I can do? I tried with calibration (multiple cycles of fully charging/fully descharging) but nothing seems to change.
