Switching from a PC to MacBook, but iTunes is a problem!

I am currently trying to switch from a PC (Windows 10,v. 1511) to a MacBook Pro (refurbished) running OS X El Capitan v. 10.11.1, that I purchased about 3 weeks ago from the Mac Store online.  I’ve been able to get several programs transferred over, but I can’t seem to get iTunes to work.  I’m running iTunes for Windows v. 12.3.1.23 64 bit, and am trying to move it to iTunes v. 12.3.1.23 on my Mac.

On the PC, I have a fairly extensive library of music that I have burned from CD’s that I own as well as music I have purchased from the iTunes store.  I am also able to connect my other Apple products (iPod, iPad, and iPhone 6) to the PC, to share music, edit and select my apps, and backup and restore from my PC.

Is there a way I can transfer my music library to the Mac, and also retain the functions I currently have on the PC?

Thanks!
