We are lucky enough to have 4 Apple TV’s connected up to 4 televisions in the house.
2 are 2nd gen and 2 are 3rd.
Recently we had problems with one the 3rd generation ones and Apple replaced it under warranty .
When i brought it home and connected in its place it would not work. It displayed a grey speckled star screen and then a collection of dotted lines.
I tried it with another TV in another room and same result.
I brought it back to Apple authorised repairers and the after testing for 6 hours could find no fault.
Perplexed I brought it home and tried again but same result but tried the other 3 TV’s as well and strangely it worked on one perfectly.
one could say why not swap around but I would like the better quality 3rd gen 1080P output in the living room on the largest best TV and not in the kitchen which is the only place it works.
The previous one worked perfectly there as does my daughters 3rd Generation one.
The Apple authorised repairers say it works fine for them so its my problem.
I don’t think so.
