I have a Macbook Pro with OS El Capitan 10.11.1 installed. I have a problem of not being able to configure my Focusrite Saffire 6 USB (2.0) MIDI device for any input or output.
When I look at the USB tree (About this Mac etc) the Saffire 6 is seen when it is plugged in and not seen when it is not plugged in.
However, it does not appear as an Input or Output option in the Sound menu of System Preferences.
Likewise in Audio Midi Setup, the device is listed but it says it has no input or output streams and the option when I right-click are greyed-out: no way to configure device or choose to use this device for sound output etc.
What can I do to get this MIDI device recognised for sound input and output?
